Our FHE Board

I bought this chalkboard for me for Christmas. (It's easier for me to get my own gifts because Ryan's so busy and then I get exactly what I want). The board seems to help make Family Home Evening more spiritual and less chaotic the two weeks we've used it so far. This week (Jan 31) Alexander was SO excited/proud to hold the picture for the lesson he picked out. We seem to be getting our money's worth out of Benjamin's preschool. He wrote his name for the lesson and the next 3 beginning letters (M,B,A). He's growing up fast!

BYU vs. Air Force Basketball

We had 7 tickets to BYU Basketball games from the "Cosmo Club". When I went to get tickets, the girl at the ticket window convinced me to buy the tickets for the 1st game b/c they were only $1/seat and we could still go to 2 more games. That was before "Jimmer Mania" hit. I was second guessing my decision b/c I figured the boys wouldn't be that interested and we wouldn't want to go to more than one game... and maybe the Cosmo club was a bad deal if we could get tickets for $1... but now the games are sold out and $10/bench seat. Apparently it's a good time to be going to BYU men's basketball games. For the women's games they're letting families in for free just to get the arena filled. It's amazing how relative the ticket prices are. It seems like BYU games are a lot more family friendly than other colleges'. BYU's fight song reminds me of something you would hear in the musical Saturday's Warrior (P/N 4 Feb 2011).
I don't think Benjamin watched more than a minute of the game.
Alexander seemed to be into it.
Alexander was napping when Ryan and Benjamin left for the game. Ryan was surprised when we showed up at the beginning of the 2nd half because I'm really not into sports, but Alexander said he really wanted to go to the basketball game with daddy and Benjamin. James is... Along for the ride even more than Alexander was at his age.
After the game, Ryan messed with Alexander's hair and Benjamin was jealous that his hair wouldn't do the same thing.

Our Puzzler!

Benjamin and Alexander got puzzles in their stockings for Christmas. Benjamin had easily been doing 24 piece puzzles so we got him a 48 piece one this time. He put it together all by himself and quickly at that. We took him to Dollar Tree to get a 100 peice puzzle. He doesn't quite have the patience for the bigger puzzle yet.
